Brand Category Revamp – Gaming PC
Gaming in general has experienced a rapid and huge revolution in the last years, representing today a multimillion category. HP had its gaming pc brand completely overlooked, with no marketing budget or focus to support it, with very limited distribution in Canada. Market Share was bottom of the list with only few players in market. I completely revamped the brand in Canada and with my team and our agency, created a 3-fold strategy, with events – represented through a brand ambassador, a French-Canadian gamer, social media in particular platforms where gamers handout, twitch, and Overwatch – and the gamers league HP had signed agreements with. Omen by HP became top for earned media, increased sales by 20% and our ambassador, Miss Harvey, was also recruited by our US company to support the brand in that market. Unfortunately, even though our supporting efforts to increase demand generation, Category and Sales teams were not able to expand distribution or portfolio in Canada, therefore limiting our market share and volume results.
